Weherahena temple

Dehiwala National Zoo in Sri lanka

                  Dehiwala zoo is one of the oldest zoos in Asia, which was founded in 1936. It is home to a variety of animals and birds. There are more than 3,000 animals and 350 species. 100 species of mammals, 110 different species of birds, 65 species of fish, 3 amphibians and 10 species of marine invertebrates found inside buildings. Zoo also plays a very important role in educating the community and preserve the endangered species.

Abhayagiri Dagoba

          Abhayagiri Dagoba built around 88 BC with the original height of more than a hundred meters is one of the highest landmarks in the world of nature. This dagoba was just part of a set of monastic buildings. Abhayagiri gained popularity and fraternity of Buddhist monks, attracting scientists from around the world in all shades of Buddhism and as such influence can be attributed to other parts of the world. Third century AD saw the golden age of Abhayagiri, and when they brought the remains of the tooth of Buddha to Sri Lanka fourth century, Abhayagiri was selected to house the remains for public veneration.

         Apart from being a religious monument, Abhayagiri Dagoba also serves as the symbol of national renewal, where the king who built this great edifice he did in fulfillment of a promise he made when he was forced to flee his kingdom. 14 years after his exile, he returned to the king, overthrew are Dravidians and regained the kingdom. This period marked by the end of the Brahmins and Jain influence in the country.

Ruwanweliseya Dagoba

            Known as the "Great Stupa" Ruwanweliseya is undoubtedly just that. A perfect dome stands more than 300 feet and 370 feet in diameter, and huge Ruwanweliseya is perhaps the most sacred dagoba in the island as a whole, because it is believed to house the largest number of relics of the Buddha. It was believed the construction of this large dagoba had begun in the reign of King Dutugemunu in the 2nd century BC.



            As with most historical monuments in Sri Lanka, Ruwanweliseya has a deep connection with Buddhism. Yala National Park

          The Yala National Park, one of the points of eco-tourism Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, 24 km northeast of Tissamaharama and 305 km from Colombo, on the southeastern coast of Sri Lanka, which extends the range 97 878 ​​hectares in the provinces of the south and Ufa.
