Kanneliya, with an area of 10,140 hectares, is a complex of forests located in the south of Sri Lanka, which is considered as an important biosphere reserve in 2004 by UNESCO.
Except Sinharaja rainforest, is recognized as such Kanneliya only remaining rainforest in Sri Lanka. Which is one of the richest regions in terms of the plants, in all of South Asia, and the forest reserve is located about 35 kilometers northwest of the city of Galle. Kanneliya is a must for nature lovers.
