Located about fifteen kilometers east of Hambantota Bundala National Park is one of the destinations in Sri Lanka before everything for birdwatchers, protecting an important area of coastal wetlands land famous for its abundant water (and other) birds. The park is also home to large numbers of elephants and crocodiles estuaries and marshes, turtles and other animals, including the tiger.
Stretching along the east coast of Hambantota, Bundala National Park is ideal for instant gratification: riding in a Jeep four hours, we can see elephants, crocodiles 8FT, giant squirrels and flamingos. Safari in the afternoon in the dry season (December to May) provides the best opportunity for visitors to see wildlife.
