Knuckles Range in Sri Lanka

Mountain chain joints located in the center of Sri Lanka, to the northeast of the city of Kandy. Group takes its name from a series of recumbent folds and peaks in the west of the massif which resemble the fingers of the fist when viewed from certain locations in the Kandy district. While this name has been set by the British surveyors in the early Sinhalese population and are usually referred to the region Dumbara Kanduvetiya means fog Laden mountain range (Cooray, 1984).
The entire region is characterized by striking landscapes often robed in thick layers of cloud but in addition to their aesthetic value of the range is of great scientific interest. Is a microcosm of the rest of the climate of Sri Lanka.
